POCHIN RAISE £8,000 FOR CHRISTIES HOSPITAL, MANCHESTER
Pochin's dynamic duo, Steve Daniels and Lee Gregory, have raised over £8,000 for Christie's Hospital Manchester, after taking part in this year's Pochin Challenge.
The two-day event, which commenced at Middleton Top, Matlock,
saw cyclists conquer tough mountain sections and crossing villages
including Diggle, Wormhill and Broadbottom. The pair then followed
the route through the scenic Dales before climbing to the more
challenging terrain of the Dark Peak with views of Kinder and
Lantern Pike. The trail takes in a mix of old and new tracks and
follows the flanks of the hills north of Rochdale, to Watergrove
reservoir, and Broadley, picking up the Historic Rooley Moor
Road.
An exhausted Steve Daniels commented, "It was a great achievement to have completed the Pennine Challenge and we are very proud to have raised £8,000 for Christies Hospital. The event was quite an adventure, and apart from the vast amounts of rain we thoroughly enjoyed it. We would like to thank Alwyne Atkinson for his support."
