Pochin Concrete Pumping, part of Cheshire based Pochins plc, is on course for setting a new world record, thanks to a concrete pumping project at Heathrow Airport.

The project, which is due for completion in September, will see Pochin pump concrete over a distance of 1,800 metres as part of the works to construct two new underground railway extensions that will bring the Heathrow Express and London Underground Piccadilly Line into Terminal 5 at London Heathrow Airport.

expertise of an onsite operator, as well as 1,800 metres of pipeline.

Pochin Director David Pochin, said "We are delighted to be in the position to set another
world record. The construction of the railway track is a complex procedure and we are
delighted to be on course to complete the pumping in line with the plans for the whole
Terminal."

Added, Mike Millar Project Director for Balfour Beatty Rail Projects who are leading the
construction of the two rail projects on behalf of Client BAA: "We chose Pochin because of their abilities and previous successful projects in this area, particularly given the team's previous pumping record when working at Terminal 4."
