POCHIN DEVELOPMENTS SELLS WEST STREET RETAIL SCHEME
26 April 2011
Pochin Developments Limited, part of Cheshire based Pochin's PLC, has sold its completed development at West Street, Crewe.
Pochin acquired the former George Hotel site in July 2010 and, having secured planning consent, subsequently developed 464 sq m (5,000 sq ft) of retail accommodation on the site, of which 371 sq m (4,000 sq ft) was let to The Cooperative, which opened earlier this year.
In October 2010, Pochin Developments sold 0.6 acres of land to Thomas Jones Homes of Chelford. Following planning approval, house building is now well underway.
On the scheme Jim Nicholson, Pochin's Property Director commented: "By creating this retail scheme, we have improved the local facilities in a short period of time. This is testament to our in-house development team and partnership with Malahat Properties Limited."
"The project itself has provided much needed facilities for the local residents with a high quality retail offer. We are continuing to provide similar projects across the North West to create schemes which, like West Street can bring derelict or underused sites back into economic use."
Lamont Commercial Limited advised Pochin on the sale.
