POCHIN CONSTRUCTION IS RECOGNISED FOR EXCELLENCE IN ITS FIELD WITH THREE INDUSTRY AWARD WINS
20 May 2011
Pochin Construction has been recognised across the board for its excellence in construction, being awarded three industry awards in the last three months.
In the first of the accolades, Pochin Construction won the award for Best Healthcare Building at the LABC (Local Authority Building Control) North Wales Building Excellence Awards 2011. Pochin was presented with the award for its work on Delfryn Lodge, a psychiatric unit in Mold, which Pochin was instructed to build in 2010 on behalf of Cambian Healthcare.
Secondly, Pochin Construction has received a Silver Award at the Considerate Constructor's Annual National Site Awards, for its work on the Welsh Assembly Government office development in Llandudno Junction, North Wales.
The Awards recognise excellent standards of consideration towards a site's workforce, neighbours, and impact on the surrounding environment. The Awards are given only to the highest scoring 7.5% of sites, which have been completed in the previous year. The Welsh Assembly Government Building was scored 38 out of a possible 40 points and Pochin Construction has since been invited to become an Associate Considerate Constructor, joining 40 of its peers within the construction industry, who meet bi-annually to look at ways to continually improve the image of the industry.
Finally, in a prestigious awards ceremony, Pochin Construction won a Gold Award at the RoSPA Occupational Health and Safety Awards, held at the Birmingham Metropole Hotel, National Exhibition Centre, on Wednesday 18th May 2011.
The scheme looks not only at accident records, but also the entrants' overarching health and safety management systems, including important practices such as strong leadership and workforce involvement.
