POCHIN COMMENCES WORK ON BASC SCHEME
3 July 2009
The Welsh Assembly's shadow minister for rural affairs, Councillor Brynle Williams joined the British Association of Shooting and Conservation (BASC) and Pochin Construction at a "ground-breaking" ceremony at BASC's headquarters in Rossett, North Wales.
The event marked the start of construction for a two-storey extension to BASC's Marford Mill headquarters. The 371 sq m (4,000 sq ft) extension will house a communications centre, which will provide remote TV filming facilities including a soundproofed studio, a fully equipped design studio and video-conferencing facilities.
Councillor Brynle Williams AM was in attendance alongside key members from BASC and Pochin Construction to mark the occasion and toast the success of the scheme.
On the contract, Jon Pochin, Managing Director of Pochin
Construction, commented: "The new centre, which is scheduled
to take six months to complete, will provide BASC with the
technology to compete in a digital age and reach a much wider
audience. We look forward to working closely with BASC to bring
this state-of-the-art facility to fruition."
