FREDERIC ROBINSON RELIES ON POCHIN CONTRACTORS TO DELIVER

Pochin Construction continues to build a strong relationship with Frederic Robinsons Limited, as the team secures two new contracts with the reputable brewery.

The first of the two recent appointments see Pochins back on site at Robinson's Unicorn Packaging Centre in Bredbury, near Stockport, to conduct civil works to the packaging line. The machinery at the plant is in need of modernisation due to increased demand for the Robinsons product. The contract which is due to commence on 17 March 08, will be carried out over a three-month period and entails a complete remodelling of the internal areas.

Peter Gleave contracts manager at Pochin comments: "The work will provide Robinsons with a first class packaging facility, which will cater not only for the larger volumes of products but the 'niche' products, which require a more considered approach. The job is unique in the fact that the factory needs to be operational whilst the work is carried out. In addition we are working in a hygiene area so we have the added responsibility of keeping the area sanitary whilst completing the job."

Pochin was the original contractor to have built the bottling centre, when production began in 1975, with recent work seeing the development and refurbishment of a number of prestige pub sites across the North West. The latest of the projects undertaken by Pochin for its long-term client is the refurbishment and alteration of the Grapes Public House in Hyde, Cheshire. The £583,783 contract will be completed over a twelve-month period and work is due to commence at the end of February this year.
