CORUS OF APPROVAL FOR POCHIN’S AND ROSEMOUND STEEL DEAL
A joint venture between Pochin's PLC and Rosemound Developments has purchased 200 acres of land at Deeside Industrial Estate.
The site, which is located on one of the main arterial routes into North Wales, has been purchased for £5 million from Corus, following the Group's disposal of surplus land at Deeside Industrial Park. The JV are now planning to develop a business park.
The development is expected to pioneer the construction of new facilities in the area, with a number of sites surrounding the Park currently undergoing negotiations, as Karen Hirst of the Welsh Development Agency explains: "Deeside has been a major success story since the original developments in the 1980's. What we are seeing however is that current demand for space cannot be facilitated and we are relying on new developers coming in and negotiating land from neighbouring owners, such as Corus and the Ministry of Defence. In doing so, they can provide the area with improved commercial facilities and the opportunity for businesses to relocate to Deeside, thus benefiting the local economy and the area's various conurbations."
Added Jim Nicholson, director at Pochin Developments: "We are very excited about this acquisition and look forward to working together with Rosemound in developing a planning application and progressing on the site."
