31 March 2010

Pochin Developments held a ceremony on Wednesday 24 March at its Midpoint 18 Business Park in Middlewich to mark the relocation of Creative Arts to the Park.

Creative Arts Ltd, chose Pochin Developments' Midpoint 18 as the base for its new headquarters and is in the process of relocating its 40-strong workforce to Middlewich. Creative Arts Ltd has taken the 2,887 sq m (31,085 sq ft) Unit 10 at Dalton Way, Midpoint 18 on a 15-year lease.

Trading as Scolaquip, Creative Arts is the primary supplier of art materials to the UK education sector and exports to over 40 countries worldwide. The company handles the distribution of the Crayola colour range, as well as managing the manufacture of a range of products for Berol and distributing them throughout Europe, Scandinavia and the Far East.

The Mayor of Cheshire East, Councillor Margaret Simon and The Mayor of Middlewich, Councillor Pam Farrell were in attendance to welcome Creative Arts to the park. They were guided around the premises by the Creative Arts team and even tried their hand at packing crayons on the production line.

John Reynard, managing director of Creative Arts Ltd, commented: "We couldn't be happier with the help and advice that Pochin gave us throughout this relocation process. The new premises provides us with all the space we need to service our international client base as well giving us the room to expand as we look to the long term future and growth of the company."

Brian Reay, property director of Pochin Developments, added: "Creative Arts is relocating a workforce of 40 employees to Midpoint 18. This is fantastic news, not only for park but also for the Borough as a whole. We look forward to building on our relationship with Creative Arts as we continue help them to settle within Midpoint 18 community."

"In 2008, Pochin obtained planning permission for a further 1.5m sq ft of development for employment and leisure uses at Midpoint 18. However work has not been able to progress due to the need for a bypass to provide access to the earmarked development land. We continue to work closely with Middlewich Town Council and Cheshire East Borough Council as we work towards raising the finance required from both the public and private sectors to bring the Middlewich Eastern Bypass to fruition."
